There are a number of factors
that affect the separation efficiency of the trommel, which include:
(1) Characteristics of the feed
The nature of the material is mainly
the particle size characteristics and the water content and mud content of the
material. Particles less than 3/4 of the mesh size are easy to sieve; Particles
larger than 3/4 of the mesh size are difficult to screen. However, the particle
size of 1~1.5 times the mesh size is the most likely to hinder the mesh.
Therefore, the more the material is easy to screen, the higher the screening
efficiency of the sieve, the lower the opposite. In addition, the moisture
content of particles has a great influence on the screening efficiency, and the
surface water and the internal water of particles contain moisture, and the
internal water has little influence on the screening efficiency. The higher the
surface water content, the easier it is to make fine particles into groups, but
also adhere to the surface of large particles and the sieve, making the
relative particle size of particles larger and blocking the sieve.
(2) the type and working
parameters of the sieve.
Including the shape and mesh size
of the sieve, the movement of the sieve and the size of the sieve, the
inclination of the screen surface, etc..
(3) Speed of rotation of the
trommel screen
(4) Feed rate
(5) Residence time in the
rotating drum
(6) Angle of inclination of drum
(7) Number and size of screen
